Pyrrun

The largest local town, situated somewhat southwest of Larh. To reach Pyrrun from there, it is necessary to pass through several valleys and cross three minor rivers and brooks. It is approximately two days travel each way if walking or leading a goods wagon.

Pyrrun has a functional shogunate era floatation cell smeltery, kept in good but not perfect condition by the collaboration and worship of several forge gods revered throughout the town. Its economy is thus primarily focussed around the production and use of high quality metals, and it produces a large proportion of the weaponry for Thal as well as much of the domestic goods and any complex metalworking too difficult or just too large for a village smithy.

Pyrrun is surrounded by farmlands on all sides, has bustling trade links in all directions, and supports a well trained local guard who patrol infrequently but thoroughly, resulting in lower than expected banditry nearby. This safety really only extends to about an eight hour marching radius, but that nicely covers all of the supporting farmland. Despite this, Pyrrun’s population is high enough that they rely partially on agricultural imports from several other villages. It is the second largest settlement after the capitol of Thallen
